Job Description:

Full-time Prevention Specialist position for the Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission. This position is responsible for instructing educational and informational services in the local schools’ classrooms and communities throughout Armstrong County related to alcohol, tobacco, problem gambling, and other drug prevention. We are looking for someone comfortable presenting to the public, coordinating events and meetings, marketing our programs, and educating youth about substance use prevention. The position does require some evening and weekend hours based on scheduled community events and is housed in Shelocta. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required in Health Education, Education, the Social or Behavioral Sciences fields, and/or preferably one year’s experience in drug and alcohol prevention work. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft programs and other computer skills. Candidates must be able to obtain necessary clearances to work with children and have a valid driver's license. Company vehicles are available for travel. The starting salary is $39,524 with a potential increase after one year with the company.
