Maintenance Technician I
Reports to: Director of Environmental Services Status:
Pay Rate: TBD based on experience; Non-Exempt, Level III Shift:
Purpose and Scope: Assist in performing a variety of skilled and
semi-skilled jobs in and around the building and grounds; such as
painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, security, grounds
keeping, custodial labor, roofing, cabling, mechanical repairs and
Duties and Responsibilities:
--- Repair and maintain equipment and facilities by replacement of
worn or broken parts.
- Prepare plaster, masonry, wallboard walls and ceilings for
painting by scraping, sanding and patching. Paint these surfaces
using latex or oil base paint with brush and roller.
- Perform inspections on a variety of equipment and facilities
such as fire extinguisher, electrical beds, fluorescent light
fixtures, lift station, door and door closures and replacement of
- Maintain the grounds by performing such duties as trimming,
edging, planting, fertilizing, watering, seeding and pruning using
hand tools, and yard.
- Strip, re-finish and buff hard floors.
- Scrub and maintain carpeted floors.
- Responds to all emergency calls after hours as directed by the
Director of Environmental Services
- Actively participates in the Resident Dining Program after
completing the Feeding Assistant Training Program unless already
licensed or certified in an appropriate field. --- Any and all
other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
--- Must have the ability to be courteous, kind, respectful and
understanding when dealing with staff, residents, patients, and
their families and other visitors.
--- Ability to read, write and follow oral or written instructions
so that the assigned task may be carried out independently by use
of the equipment instruction folder and written work order
instructions. Also able to write a narrative description of the

--- Previous experience of at least six months in order to have
gained the ability to operate lawn and snow removal equipment
properly and to perform routine care and maintenance on same.

gained sufficient knowledge to work semi-independently in
