Philadelphia St, Indiana, PA 15701New Story Schools provides
special education for students ages 5-22 in grades K-12 across
Pennsylvania and Ohio. We offer small class sizes, individualized
learning plans, and use evidence-based strategies through our team
of educators, behavior analysts, and therapists to help students
overcome challenges and achieve their goals.What we offer:
- Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour based on education and
experience
- Consistent Pay: Same hourly rate for all work, with no
differentiation between billable and non-billable hours, and no
reductions for student cancellations
- Schedule: 35 hour schedule, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00
PM (No nights, No weekends)
- Paid Time Off:12 days of PTO plus school holidays, and spring,
winter and summer break pay*

Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher in implementing individualized education
plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide support in the classroom by helping students with their
academic tasks, including literacy and math activities
- Assist students with self-help skills, including toileting,
feeding, and personal hygiene, to promote independence
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to
teachers to help adjust teaching strategies, as necessary
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A genuine passion for working with children, along with
patience and compassion Preferred/Nice to have:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in psychology or related
field
- Experience working with children with special needs or autism
through volunteer work, employment, or other relevant experiences
