POOL SUPERVISOR REPORTS TO: POOL MANAGER GIVES DIRECTION TO: PART
TIME SEASONAL POOL STAFF AND LIFEGUARDS IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ
FIRST Position to begin work in May 2026. Successful applicants
should be available to work fromMemorial Day through Labor Day
2026. College students may end the season prior to Labor Day, with
prior approval. Pool Supervisors are expected to requestno more
than 2 weeks of vacation during the season. By State law, all
positions that work directly with minors require three background
clearances to be obtained prior to the first day of work. You
should allow 4-6 weeks to obtain all clearances. If you work for at
least one month, we will reimburse for the cost of the clearances
($60.25 that are obtained for you to work for us. Please

NATURE OF WORK This is a seasonal position with supervisory
functions responsible for the operation, care and maintenance of
Swim Center facilities. Position is eligible for overtime. Pool
supervisors are not eligible for paid sick time due to being a
seasonal position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assists with supervision
of the daily operation of the Swim Center. Assists with
supervision, safety training, and work assignments of part-time
lifeguards. Assists with seasonal start-up and shutdown of the Swim
Center. Assists in special event set-ups and operations. Assist
Manager withreaching out to unscheduled staff to fill any call-offs
or openshifts. Participates with backwashing filters as needed.
Ensuring for a safe, clean and sanitary facility. Conducts daily
inspection of facilities and equipment. Monitors chemicals and
supplies and requests ordering as needed. Ensures facility operates
in accordance with recreation department requirements and Allegheny
County Health Department regulations. Assists with and/or lead
in-service safety training. Assists in the development and
implementation of the emergency action plans. Responsible for
positive customer, peer and subordinate relations. Performs daily
water testing and ensures the proper operation of the pools
filtration and chlorination systems. Assists with the maintenance
of staff certification records. Acts as Pool Manager in their
absence. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Performs all other work assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Knowledge of swimming pool operation
and related equipment. Knowledge of water chemistry and pool
filtration. Knowledge of basic tools. Knowledge of basic cleaning
chemicals used in facilities. Interpersonal skills. First
Aid/AED/CPR skills. REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or G.E.D. Two years or more experience as a
lifeguard. American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Two years
supervisory experience in aquatic facilities preferred. American
Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification desired. (Municipality
will pay for successful certification). Certified Pool Operator
Certification desired. (Upon approval, Municipality will pay for
successful certification). ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB
FUNCTIONS Hearing, seeing (close up and distance), standing,
sitting, climbing, bending, verbal communication (including
shouting), hand movements, holding, lifting (60 lbs.) waving arms,
running on deck and in water, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching,
grasping, and feeling. Ability to swim. Ability to work in direct
sunshine and wind. Ability to tolerate inclement weather including
rain, heat, humidity and cold. High level of concentration
required, including on pool and deck areas. Independent
decision-making pertaining to proper rescue and treatment in
emergency situations, in accordance with defined policy. The above
