This is a high-functioning hospitalist program offering both daytime and nocturnist coverage with a manageable census, strong subspecialty support, and a collaborative care model. Opportunity Snapshot Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia Contract Type: Hospitalist Locum Tenens Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing Schedule Requirement: Minimum 7 shifts per month Shift Options: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Days) 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Nights) Position Mix: 3–4 Daytime Hospitalists 2 Nocturnists Facility Size: 294 Beds Facility Overview Regional referral hospital serving north-central West Virginia Full-service acute care facility with strong specialty coverage Open ICU model with dedicated Pulmonary/Critical Care team Modern inpatient infrastructure with efficient patient flow Practice Environment Average Census: 16–18 patients per provider Admissions: 2–3 per day shift Nights: Admissions and codes only Open ICU model with: Pulmonary/Critical Care managing vented patients Hospitalists maintaining primary responsibility for ICU patients Procedures: Not required for daytime physicians Line placements expected for nocturnists Support Model: 1 Advanced Practice Provider on during day shifts (7a–7p) Collaborative physician-led team environment This is a balanced hospitalist program—moderate volume, strong support, and clearly defined responsibilities. Scheduling Expectations Providers must be available for: Day or night shifts (role dependent) Consistent monthly coverage (minimum 7 shifts) Flexible scheduling options available based on availability and role (day vs nocturnist).
