Job Description UPMC Department of Urology is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse, OP to join their team in Altoona, PA. This is a Monday through Friday daylight position with the hours of 8am to 4:30pm. No evenings or weekends! This position will work Monday through Friday, daylight hours, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays! This position be responsible for rooming patients for provider, triage, in-baskets, urinalysis and specimen collection, foley catheter insertion/echange and removals, bladder scans, and more! The ideal candidate will have good organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work in a busy, fast-paced practice. The LPN plays an important role as a member of the care delivery team in the clinical setting. This position will support clinical staff and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. One year clinical experience preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Act 34 *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
