Locum Tenens: Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician Near Altoona, PA We are actively seeking an experienced Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician for a locum tenens opportunity near Altoona, PA. This position is available starting ASAP and will continue on an ongoing basis. The role involves both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, with a mix of scheduled clinical hours and on-call coverage. Position Details: Specialty: Maternal-Fetal Medicine Position Type: Locum Tenens Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Call Practice Setting: Outpatient and Inpatient Responsibilities: Provide high-quality care in both outpatient and inpatient settings Manage complex pregnancies and perform necessary consultations Handle on-call duties as scheduled to ensure comprehensive patient care Conduct patient admissions and discharges as needed Collaborate effectively with a multi-specialty team to support patient outcomes Schedule: Clinic Hours: Monday through Friday Weekend Requirement: None Holidays Allowed: New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day Key Qualifications: Licensing: Must hold a valid Pennsylvania state license Certifications: ABLS: Required ACLS: Required ATLS: Required BLS: Required PALS: Required Board Certification: Required in Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship: Completion of an accredited fellowship in MFM EMR System: Epic Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 45 days, with expedited options available Temporary Privileges: Available to facilitate quicker start dates Hospital Privileges: Not required Practice Details: Practice Type: Multi-specialty group Current Number of Providers: 6 total (2 Perinatologists, 3 OB/GYN, 1 GYN) Support Staff: Neonatologists (2), CRNPs (3), CNMs (5), NICU midlevel providers (7) Patients Per Day: Outpatient: 30 Inpatient: 10 Admissions: 2 Discharges: 2 Average Number of Deliveries Per Week: 5 Average Number of Patients Per Physician/Day: Clinic ??? 30, Hospital ??? 5 % C-Section/Response Time: 15 Minutes Certified Nurse Midwives: Handle 1st Call Ancillary Services: Certified Nurse Midwife Program Equipment/Technology: Level 3A NICU, Helicopter service This locum tenens opportunity is ideal for a qualified MFM specialist seeking a fulfilling role with a supportive team and comprehensive practice resources.
