travel throughout these areas) Schedule: Mon.-Fri., 7:30 - 4:00 pm
Summary of Job Duties : The Service Coordinator is responsible for
providing coordination of services and outreach to seniors in the
Community LIFE service area. This individual will establish links
and build relationships with agencies and service providers that
will help enhance the quality of life for the residents.
Additionally, this person will serve as a liaison, when necessary,
between the property management team and the resident to offer
referral support. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in a human
services field (social work, psychology, gerontology, sociology) or
4 years of relevant experience. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of
experience in community outreach activities for candidates with a
Bachelor's degree.; Minimum of 4 years of documented, successful
experience in community outreach activities for candidates without
a degree. Required Skills: Ability to work effectively with
culturally, economically and educationally diverse populations.
Ability to form positive interpersonal relations in dealing with a
wide range of staff as well as external contacts. Strong verbal,
written and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated
familiarity of working with the elderly and knowledge of the
process and issues of aging, including disability, mental health
and abuse issues. Must be flexible in dealing with others. Supports
the Marketing team as needed. Works with internal and external
service providers. Knowledge of eligibility and application
requirements for entitlement programs for the elderly. Local travel
within parts of Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties. Must be able
to work with a high level of autonomy. Computer literacy including
ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Required
Certifications/Licensing: Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
