Date: 03/09/2026 Job Description: Prepare patients for
examinations, explain procedures and respond to patient questions.
Perform diagnostic procedures for patients as ordered by
physicians. Responsibilities: Perform patient care/technical duties
and procedures in an accurate and timely fashion. Greet each
patient in a pleasant manner. Review requests and evaluate orders
for appropriate exam and diagnosis. Check for two identifiers: Name
and Date of Birth. Explain the procedure in terms that the patient
understands. Contact the appropriate individuals for proper
scheduling/orders: doctors' offices and/or nurses. Prepare and
position patients for examinations. Determine and use proper
technique to position patient for view/examination. Take correct
views for examination. Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR rooms safely and
efficiently. Operate CR readers and printers. Perform proper
start-up and shutdown of equipment. Transfer images to PACS, scan
documents and route. Change priority to STAT or URGENT when deemed
necessary. Assist the Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during
fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations. Move portable
radiographic equipment for various procedures within Emergency
Dept., Operating Room, PACU, and Nursing departments. Use proper
sterile technique during examination in operating room and for
various procedures within the Radiology department. Prepare IV and
Oral contrast media for use, and administer contrast media as
needed. Document patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations,
date, time of study, and technologist initials in PACS. Maintain
room assignments and keep work area clean and orderly. Apply
appropriate radiation safety practices and promote radiation safety
of the patient and staff, consistent with ALARA standards. Escort
patients throughout department and/or hospital. Provide great
customer service to patients, staff, and/or anyone else they come
in contact with. Perform clerical duties efficiently, timely, and
accurately. Monitor the workflow process utilizing PACS, Image
release, and CD burner. Requirements: High School diploma or
equivalent. Completion of a specialized training program in
Radiological Technology by approved the American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). One year of experience preferred
performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or
physician's office. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and
physiology. Knowledge of radiologic equipment and procedures, and
safety hazards common to radiology, including equipment, body
mechanics, and patient movement. Registered with the ARRT in
Radiology. Meet the American Heart Association's standards for
Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renew BLS every
