Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Stepdown - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Internal Job Description Notes added 12/24/2025 Unit -Stepdown/MedSurg Beds: 29 bed unit that is currently under construction. All beds will be step down equipped with an opening in first quarter 2026 Nurse:Patient Ratios: Ratios for step down 3:1, floor 6:1 Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) Common diagnoses/Types of patients - Flex unit: Serves both floor and step-down patients, based on patient and hospital needs. - Diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses - medicine unit Experience or 'Must have' skills: Looking for new and experienced nurses; We need the candidates to be able to handle a 6 patient (med-surg) or a 3 patient (stepdown) MUST HAVE EPIC EXPERIENCE Are RNs required to titrate drips?: RNs will have orders written to titrate drips. Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrythmics, phenobarbitol, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, TPN Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Have charge RNs and House Supervisors 24/7.
