ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wheeling, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with day/night rotation • Must be on unit ready to work by 6:45 AM/PM • Weekend requirement: work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday/Saturday/Sunday considered weekend shifts) • Day shift staff required to work minimum of 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule • Patient ratios typically 1:5, goal of 1:4, occasionally 1:6 • Must float to telemetry, medical/surgical units, and pandemic unit as needed with ratios up to 1:6-1:7 • Self-scheduling allowed when unit needs are met, with 4 requested days off per month • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently • Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, and Heparin • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), navy scrub jackets, no hoodies • EMR systems: Sunrise and Allscripts for charting • Manage patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker, pre/post cardiac catheterization procedures • Handle intermediate care acuity patients including those on Tikosyn therapy • Perform groin checks and manage radial bands • Floor orientation: First day includes 4 hours with HR and 8 hours on unit with preceptor, second day on unit with preceptor • Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract • Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license and be within 50-mile radius • BSN not required but willing to wait for license Facility: This healthcare organization operates a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, providing comprehensive stepdown care services. The facility features 24/7 hospitalist coverage, in-house intensivists, pharmacy services, respiratory therapy, and IV team support.
