Registered Nurse (RN) | Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma Location: State College, PA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,124 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/3/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in State College, Pennsylvania, 16803! Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN licensure Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Must-Have: EPIC Computer Charting Experience Description: Provides professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge through the use of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) standards. Utilizes the nursing process through assessment of patient needs. Develops a plan of care to meet patient needs and implements nursing interventions. Evaluates patient care outcomes for all age populations from neonate to geriatric. This position is subject to scheduled on-call assignments as needed, based on community event influence on patient volumes. Effectively functions as a team member and serves as a liaison between patients and staff. Supports and encourages harmonious communication skills. Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Communicates in a highly professional manner at all times. Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional resilience when dealing with ill individuals. Uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues. Triages every patient entering the emergency care system and determines priorities based on physical and psycho-social needs. Conducts hourly rounding in the department and half-hour rounding in the waiting room as needed. Documents in-depth nursing history including chief complaint and pertinent information. Develops and implements a plan of care based on ongoing assessments. Ensures supplies and equipment for patient care are readily available and in working order. Updates the plan of care constantly to meet the needs of patients and families based on continuous assessment and reevaluation. Manages complications and emergencies per established policies and ENA standards. Recognizes changes in patient health status and directs appropriate care for patient safety. Documents and acts on patient responses to interventions to facilitate competent medical care. Implements health education for patients and families. Educates patients and families on treatment prior to initiation. Assists patients/families by providing accurate information on health status and referrals. Documents understanding of discharge teaching provided to patients and families.
