Occupational Therapist Location: Indiana Agency: Medix Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Medix is working with a healthcare client to staff a crucial opening at their facility. We are seeking an occupational therapist for a travel assignment starting as soon as possible (ASAP). This role is a fantastic opportunity for a clinician who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about empowering seniors to age safely and independently in their community. The client is committed to a comprehensive, holistic model of care for participants of a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). As the Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering personalized care to program participants. This is a brand-new center where you will help coordinate with the primary care provider and gradually increase patient load as the center grows. Location: Kokomo Indiana Facility Type: Outpatient (Catering to a 55 patient population) Start Date: November 3rd (11/3) Length of Assignment: 13 weeks (Option to extend to 6 months) State License needed: Valid State licensure as a Registered Occupational Therapist Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4/4:30 PM shift (5 8-hour shifts). No on-call, weekends, or evenings are required. Pay: Compensation and potential stipends will be thoroughly reviewed and discussed by your Medix recruiter. Key Responsibilities See scheduled patients when they visit the PACE center. Conduct assessments and coordinate treatment plans with the primary care provider (PCP). Help participants improve their ability to perform everyday activities. Assist with mobility aids (walkers, wheelchairs, crutches) and other adaptive equipment. Facilitate daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, and toileting. Requirements Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. Successful completion of an Occupational Therapy program from an accredited university or equivalent. Valid State licensure as a Registered Occupational Therapist. 1 year of experience working with the geriatric population is required. Skills & Equipment Proficiency in using PACE-specific EHR, IntusCare , is preferred. Strong communication skills to coordinate with healthcare teams and participants. Ability to utilize a wide range of brand-new equipment, including parallel bars, walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, and various adaptive tools.
