College, Pennsylvania, 16803! Job Title: Intensive Care / Coronary

License: Current nursing license required Certifications:
Certification in critical care preferred Must-Have: Preference will
be given to those with prior EPIC experience Description:
Responsible to the Unit Director/Manager/designee for overall
nursing practice. Provides professional nursing care to treat human
responses to life-threatening problems, based on established
standards. Assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care.
Implements nursing measures and evaluates the effectiveness of
nursing care and other treatments. Recognizes cardiac arrhythmias
and life-threatening emergency situations and takes appropriate
action. Ongoing assessment is conducted for all critically ill
patients to promote optimal outcomes. Completes comprehensive
health history and physical assessment. Prioritizes patient
problems/needs according to the actual or potential threat.
Develops and implements a plan of care based on ongoing
assessments. Creates and updates a prioritized problem list to meet
the needs of critically ill patients, including discharge planning
and appropriate referrals. Manages life-threatening complications
per policies and procedures based on established standards.
Establishes interventions to prevent life-threatening complications
and maintain airway, ventilation, hemodynamic stability, and stable
heart rhythm. Accepts responsibility and accountability for
maintaining knowledge and skills in critical care practice.
Maintains awareness of professional issues. Continuously updates
knowledge and clinical skills. Remains current on concepts, trends,
scientific advances, biomedical equipment, and ethics relating to
critical care nursing. Ensures minimum qualifications of position
are met at all times, including licensure, certification, and
registration. Completes mandatory education and participates in
annual competency fair. Assists with temporary pacemaker insertion
and ambulance transport as needed. Holiday coverage is required. 5
