Med/Surg RN Job Details - Location: Latrobe, PA 15650 (Westmoreland County) - Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit - Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Contract Length: 13 weeks - Start Date: November 10, 2025 - Shift: 3x12 hour shifts per week (12-hour day shifts) - Hours per Week: 36 - Estimated weekly salary: $1630 - $1750 - On-Site Nursing Position Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania or compact state - BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required before first shift - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required before first shift - Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a Med/Surg unit (2 years preferred) - Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills - Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred Med/Surg RN Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission - Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams - Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EHR - Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from admission - Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care - Supervise and provide guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff - Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital and healthcare policies and procedures - Foster a positive team environment and participate in unit-based team-building activities - Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned after orientation - Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing nursing education Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
