Job Title: Echo Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Echo Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Experience: One year of experience performing ultrasound procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician's office preferred. License: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or registry eligible for cardiac sonography. Certifications: Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years. Must-Have: Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Description: Performs sonographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions. Knowledge of ultrasound equipment, procedures, protocols, and safety hazards common to administering ultrasounds. Familiarity with equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement. Knowledge of physician office procedures, ICD-10, and CPT coding guidelines. Skill in conducting equipment operation training for co-workers. Ability to operate a computer and access applicable programs. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures. Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment problems and perform simple adjustments. Skill in the production and communication of sonograms.
