The Hospice Scheduler is responsible for managing all aspects of the patient intake process, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to customer requests and concerns, and managing the insurance verification and authorization processes.

The Hospice Scheduler is also responsible for managing accurate, timely completion and submission of all the organization's billing, collections, and accounts receivable functions. Assesses staffing patterns to determine the scheduling of patients daily
Schedules patients in a manner to receive continuity of care and staff receiving equitable assignments
Prepares weekend assignments and monthly staff schedules

Qualifications:

-Minimum of one year experience preferably in hospice and healthcare, or graduation from a one or two year business college preferred.

-At least one year experience in clinical records management, preferably in hospice care operations, and information systems knowledge required.

-Complies with acceptable professional standards and practice.

-Demonstrates good communication skills and public relations skills.

-Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing responsibilities.

-Demonstrates ability to deal tactfully with patients, family members, referral sources, and payers.
