Job Description:
Scope of Responsibility: The person will be responsible for
animal health and welfare. Ensure animals are handled and used in
humane ways at Lampire. To ensure Lampire is compliant with state
and federal regulations. Ensuring that animal studies are run with
the goal of providing consistent, high-quality products and
services to our customers. Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Position Requirements: Note: Qualifications are based upon
education, resume and/or work experience. Pennsylvania veterinary
license Minimum of 5 years' experience in a practicing environment.
Minimum of 5 years' experience working with laboratory animals Farm
animal husbandry background or experience a plus Good oral and
written communication skills (English) and mathematics skills are
required Windows-based computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft
Word and Excel Good organizational skills with ability to manage
multiple priorities Experience with cGMP quality systems and
manufacturing operations Ability to give directions and communicate
effectively Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Overseeing the Lampire Animal Care and Use Program. Managing the
Program of Veterinary Care. Participating and holding voting
membership as the Attending Veterinarian on the Institutional
Animal Care and Use Program. Assist in preparation of investigation
reports as part of the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA)
program. Provide training for routine clinical procedures and to
animal care staff. Prescribe and direct all clinical treatments
Member of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) Other
duties as assigned. Education: Minimum of a Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD). Clean
driving record Ability to travel to other Lampire facilities as
needed. Physical Requirements: This position is very active and
requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and
crouching at various times throughout the day. Must be able to lift
up to 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to work in a variety of
weather conditions. Working Conditions: Extremes of temperature,
including heat in summer months and cold in winter months. While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently
exposed to extremes in temperature, and occasionally farm
equipment. The noise level in the work environment and job sites
can vary from minimal to loud. Employment Type: Full Time Salary:
$150,000 - $180,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
