THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is seeking
hardworking Civil, Construction, Environmental, or Structural
Engineering students for employment during the summer months for
the 2024 Summer Employment Program!This internship opportunity will
provide hands-on experience and exposure to various engineering
projects and processes within our organization. As an Engineering
Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with
experienced engineers and gain valuable skills that will kickstart
your career in engineering.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to learn
roadway, pavement, drainage and bridge designs; construction and
materials testing; traffic systems design and operations; or
maintenance asset management methodologies.This internship will
allow you to develop your technical skills, apply classroom
knowledge to real-world projects, and work alongside engineering
professionals who are passionate about innovation and excellence.

opportunities associated with this posting will be for Engineering
District 10 which consists of Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana,
and Jefferson Counties.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Work hours will vary based on positionSome positions may require
travelCompensation is credit based for Civil Engineering,
Construction Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Structural
Engineering majors: Less than 90 credits - $20.35Over 90 credits -

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSStudents who are interested in a PennDOT internship
must meet all of the following requirements: Must be a high school
graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a
full-time or part-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary
education program for the fall semester.Enrolled part or full-time
for the next semester by the start of the internship in an
applicable major.
Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job
functions.
