About Us: Our client, a dedicated social services agency, is committed to social services in the Pittsburgh area. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team and play a key role in supporting their mission-driven work.
Position Overview: As a Senior Accountant for our client, a social services agency, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the organization. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

• Manage the agency's day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  
• Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and various financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
  
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts, and other financial records.
  
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data, provide insights, and support decision-making processes.
  
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, legal regulations, and internal policies.
  
• Assist in the annual audit process and collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation.
  
• Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team, fostering professional growth and development.
  Qualifications preferred for the Senior Accountant:
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
    
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting roles, with a demonstrated progression of responsibilities.
    
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles specific to social services or non-profit organizations.
    
  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
    
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy.
    
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
